The Ultimate Turnaround Guy!

Published / by Lee Kessler / 2 Comments on The Ultimate Turnaround Guy!

I was married to a world-class turnaround guy until his passing in 2008.   During our marriage I came to understand–up close and personal–what a turnaround guy has to know, what they do, and the risks they take.

Businessmen who do turnarounds are brought into failing enterprises and entities to find out why the organization is declining, who is involved, and how to figure out a solution which turns the stats around, and saves the company.

Shockingly, when he was first explaining to me the “string pulling” type of investigation he would be hired to do, he said, “I can always find the Who, Lee.   I can always find out Why.   But, I have to get them before they get me, physically, financially, or psychologically.”   In other words, his work involved finding out who deliberately and maliciously was tanking the company–Why they were doing it, and how they were doing it.   And it was further his job to put a spotlight on them, and bring them out into the open, and to “justice.”  Though I did not know him then, he told me of an assignment where he and his partner were hired to find suspected corruption in HUD.  He described it as his most physically dangerous assignment, where they had to change hotels every night to avoid assassination.   Three cars were blown up under them, and they survived.  Dangerous work–helping the American taxpayer!

What he told me next, was even more unsettling.   “It is always an inside job.   And, it is always at or near the top.”   Think about it.   You own a company, or run a charity, or an agency of government and the very people you have chosen to fulfill the mission and expand the company may be people who will make certain the mission is never accomplished.   Worse yet, they will be close to you, and in positions of power.   They are trusted.   That makes the betrayal all the more painful, and also insures they can remain hidden.   The reason for that–we don’t suspect that those we entrusted with our dream could actually be working to destroy it.  So, we look elsewhere.   We create other “reasons why” the stats are declining.   We chase other red herrings.   All the while, the culprit or culprits continue their sabotage.

In case you don’t understand Donald J. Trump, he is a turnaround guy.   Whether he intended to be or not, he is.   The American people sent him into the “swamp” to figure out and fix the decline of our economy, our education, our military, our security, and our global position and influence.  His role now involves, whether he wants it or not, finding the seditious people, and isolating their activities.

My experience with my husband prepared me to face the unthinkable.   It is an “inside job.”   It is at, or near, the top:  Inside the State Department, the Defense Department, the Justice Department, the Federal Reserve, or most insidious of all–the Intelligence Community which by definition hides in the shadows and plays dirty tricks.  The players will be Directors, Deputy Directors, and other job titles that put the person close to the Director level.

I believe to survive as a free country we must identify these people, bring them into daylight, extract confessions of what they did, who they did it with, when they did it, and most important of all, Why they did it.  Then, perhaps we won’t have to drain the swamp; Just clean the swamp.

Because the good news about turnaround guys is that once they find the source and handle it, the stats reverse and the company or organization starts to flourish again.

Simple.   The “ultimate turnaround guy” was hired by the American people who smelled the stench from Washington, DC.   He came in competent and prepared to make things better again.  And now, like my husband, his job is to get them before they get him.

I challenge you to take a look at the current scene again through the eyes of a turnaround person .   Can you see now?

“Grandpa, where were you when freedom died?”

Published / by Lee Kessler / 3 Comments on “Grandpa, where were you when freedom died?”

In 1982 I met a man who later became my business mentor until he passed away.  He was always controversial, and challenged you to think.   That night he admonished several thousand people to be willing to face the challenges to freedom we might encounter.   I don’t know if the others listened, but his words struck me then, and have haunted me since.

He spoke of a time 30-40 years into the future when we might be living in totalitarianism, and he suggested we envision ourselves sitting in a chair with our grand-daughter on our knee, telling her of a time when we were free, and describing freedom.   The granddaughter needed her grandpa or grandma to tell her, since there was no mention of freedom times in her history books.  The grandparents were the last people who had lived free.  She could not originate a communication to friends or teachers without being spied on by intelligence/information officers, and neighbor citizens, to ascertain if she spoke the “approved thoughts.”  Her parents could not keep the money they earned.   It was taken instead by the state and parceled out, forcing everyone to share equally in poverty.  She could not even think a separate or different thought from the “approved thoughts” because technology had advanced to the point, it almost seemed like one could read her mind.   Her appreciation for art was controlled.  She had an “approved” diet.   She had “approved” exercise.  She lived in “approved housing.” “Alexa” was listening 24 hours a day.  Guilt related to crimes was determined by the state.   And accusation meant guilt.  The result:   a society where people dutifully went to work, organized bar-b-ques, played ball or video games, living what they thought were “normal” lives–all controlled by an all-present “Intelligence” apparatus.

And you, the grandparent, were describing the time of free thought, free speech, rule of law, and freedom to choose careers and life’s work.   You described a big, beautiful, diverse world with many countries and cultures.

When you paused to reflect upon the past you grew up in, your grand-daughter turned to you and asked, “Grandpa, where were you when freedom died?

At that point my mentor challenged us to wake up, look around at what was happening in America, and to decide whether we were going to sit by drinking beer, watching games, going to church, building businesses, and let it happen because we were uninformed and ignorant, or whether we were going to open our eyes, and see something he saw.

For whatever reason, though mad that he was taking time in a business seminar to address this, I looked where he was looking, and when I did, I saw what he saw.  That changed the course and purpose of my life.

Those of you who have followed my Blogs know that I am the 8th generation descendant of a man who fought with George Washington, and who endured the unspeakable to form this country, and provide a chance for his progeny eight generations into the future.   My mentor had challenged me to look at the legacy I would leave the next generations.

Yesterday, though I was prospering and flourishing in my business and in my life, I chose to watch the Congressional Hearing about the alleged “Whistleblower.” It is a habit I developed years ago. My own dad took me every summer to Washington, DC to watch government in operation.   We would not only visit monuments and museums, we would sit for hours in the gallery listening to great Senators and Congressmen debate and execute the powers vested in them by the Constitution.  We would visit in person our Representative and our Senators, and my dad would tell them what he wanted them to do.  Washington, DC was not called “the Swamp” then. I was a small child, but I learned.

One of the things I learned–which I do to this day–is that I try to watch an actual speech or Congressional Hearing, or read an actual document as compared to excerpts or, worse yet, analyses by news media.   My dad gave me a great gift of freedom: a fine mind, and encouragement to think my own thoughts, and form my own opinions based upon facts, not raw emotion.   I am far from perfect on this, but I try.  I hold this a priority, however, even if I fall short.   And I remind myself that our country was formed by “imperfect” people.

And, yesterday, what I witnessed at first saddened me beyond measure.   It angered me also.   It was not the blatant inflammatory lie and presentation that the Chairman of the Committee opened with.   It was not the partisan carping.   It was not the disrespect for the witness, and for the American people. As the complaint by the whistleblower was read, and discussed, I was easily able to discern that it was written by lawyers–more than one.  Disclaimers, different writing styles.   It was like a lawyer’s brief, and I knew someone was deceiving our Congress, and deceiving us.

What I saw was something far more sinister, something I have written about in fiction for over a decade, and which I prayed I would not see  play out in a live demonstration.  What I saw were spies that have penetrated the White House, Political Campaigns, the Congress, and the Courts.   Actual Intelligence officers deployed to infiltrate the parts of government you and I think–apparently we are delusional–that we control.  After all, don’t we the people elect the President of the United States?   Don’t we the people elect our Congressmen and women, and Senators?  Don’t we the people rely upon the Judicial Branch to keep us safe and free?

It was not the content of the report that was most disturbing to me. It was the fact–apparently unnoticed by anyone–that there were CIA officers deployed into the White House.   They weren’t there to occupy some office near the laundry, playing card games.   No, this bunch was in the Situation Room, transcribing conversations between heads of state.   And worse, leaking those conversations.  Their transcription may be accurate, but the leak was not.   That, my friends, is the essence of Disinformation.  So, the transcript is now confirmed by the two heads of state, and the “whistleblower” charge with the hearsay, leaked material is not.  The Intelligence Community that did this does not care about any of this.   They care about confusion and chaos, and mistrust.   And, boy, did they create that!

Back to my questions about “we the people” and who elects the President of the United States.  I was taught we did.   I, like you, have lived my life honorably, honoring our system.   I had no idea that somewhere along the way–LONG BEFORE DONALD J. TRUMP–another group of non-elected people within the Intelligence and Law Enforcement Community decided we were ignorant, stupid, beneath them and not to be trusted with power.  So, if we get it wrong with our vote, they will set it right, since they “know best.”  They use every criminal method imaginable to frame people, destroy people, create conflict amongst friends, and to blackmail and extort into submission anyone who acts as if freedom is ours.

To them, the only freedom we have is the one they will allow.   Confident that this will culminate in the next 20 years in the disintegration of our union, and the collapse of our culture and American Dream as we know it, they wait–gathering information, or planting false information to knock out anyone who might challenge them. ( In my opinion, that is why the grenade known as Donald Trump is so threatening to them. I doubt he had any idea what he was stepping into.  His plans and agenda, however, directly threaten to undermine theirs.   That’s all.)

We have already lost more freedom than you can imagine.   This has been going on for decades as we enjoy the surface trappings of freedom.   Underneath, the surveillance operation has set traps.

And when Rule of Law breaks down, anarchy ensues.   When anarchy occurs, totalitarianism is embraced as a solution.  I wrote novels to show that our enemies know the only way to take the United States down is to persuade the American people to take it down themselves. These guys are ready.   They are waiting for us to destroy ourselves based upon the false data they planted, the true data they have hidden, and the misinterpretations they have brainwashed us with.   America seems to be right on target for the loss of freedom because we will be too corrupt, and ignorant to govern ourselves.

It was 37 years ago that my mentor Bill Britt painted that haunting picture.   We are, today, now in the time frame he spoke about.  And I believe we should all stop, take a deep breath, look at our “neighbor” and ask ourselves:   Did freedom die? Did we miss it?  And then ask ourselves the follow up question our grandchildren will ask, “Grandpa, where were you when freedom died?”

In the interest of full transparency here, I don’t have children or grandchildren.   But I love yours.  I am grateful the man forced me to “look,” oh so many years ago.   I have been fighting ever since.  Freedom may die.  No government like ours was ever formed before in history, and no democracies have survived more than 200 years or so, if I remember my history correctly.

I am no longer angry at insane, obsessed politicians.   I am no longer angry at a devious, conspiratorial Media.  I have my eyes clearly on the target now–the rogue, elite, Intelligence community that got too big for its britches, and thinks itself superior to all of us.  My third book, “White King and the Battle of America: the Endgame” is playing out for real, right now.   For behind those Intelligence pipsqueaks like former CIA director John Brennan, lies their funding.  In my novel, we win and America survives.   The world survives.  But only because my heroes identify WHO is actually financing, and placing the “spies” in our midst.  WHO intends to run the world.  In my fiction, we win–because of “you the people.”

Freedom does not die on my watch.  For the sake of your children and grandchildren, will you make sure it doesn’t die on yours?

You may ask, what can I do?

I exhort you.   Send this into your newspapers as an Op-Ed Submission.   Send it into the Editorial pages for inclusion.  You have to attribute it to me, but you can send it.   Post it on Facebook.   Forward this on Social Media.   Use your communication lines.  Call into Radio Talk Shows.   Forward it in emails to the top Talk Show hosts’ websites.   Send it to the White House.   Send it to both of your Senators, and Congressperson.   Understand the full meaning of the title of my last book, and know the urgency.

Words Matter–Especially “Conservative”

Published / by Lee Kessler / Leave a Comment

From where I sit, most Americans may miss the real importance of appointments to the Supreme Court, and get caught up instead in political debate.   The culprit which is adding to the confusion, consternation, and hysteria is a simple word:   “Conservative”   And all manner of people on both political sides are using it inappropriately, in my humble opinion, with regard to Justices on the Supreme Court.

More often than not, you hear pundits say, “He is appointing conservative Judges.”  The problem is that in the judicial community, I believe most jurists know what that term means.   But, to the general public and people who are caught up today in the political firestorm engulfing our nation, there is a misunderstanding of the meaning of the word in the judicial context.

In the world of politics, conservative and liberal have distinct meanings relevant to the philosophy of those who call themselves one or the other.   Since we are in a never-ending, politically-charged, 24/7 tsunami of political opinion and positioning in this campaign season, the viewer or reader –on a stimulus-response basis–reacts to the word “conservative” in the political sense.   And they get scared, angry, thrilled, or whatever other emotion comes up, based upon how they feel about political conservatives.

But, I believe in the judicial community, they will use the term “originalist” or “constitutionalist” to refer to justices whose judicial philosophy is that the Constitution is the anchoring document and all evaluations and court decisions should be based upon the original intent of the Constitution and the Founders, as best we can interpret it based upon original writings etc.

Using that term brings the debate where it should be–into whether our laws should be based upon the Constitution, and what the original creators envisioned in order to create a free and lasting form of government, or whether one wants to have the current trends of the society dictate how laws are to be interpreted and/or overturned.   One is an anchor, a foundation upon which to build forward.  One is a changing document, with decisions floating in the current sea.

We could debate that.   Personally, for me, I wouldn’t trust the future of your children or grandchildren to the inhabitants of the swamp today, and the lobbyists who dictate to, and entice, them.   That is way to “situational” an existence for my tastes, and I believe ultimately leads to mob rule and totalitarianism.

But, that is not my point.   The debate should be in the judicial realm, but it is in the hyper-charged political realm because of the sloppy use of the word “conservative.”   People’s reaction to that word can cause the politicizing of the court. or so they fear.   So, they carry their  entrenched political philosophies into the mess, and then wonder how the Judicial Branch has been so compromised.   They assume a justice’s political preference will automatically be how he or she will rule.   And then, they are stunned when their favorite “political” justice rules the opposite.   They feel confused and betrayed.

Words matter.   And I think we all, myself included, should discipline ourselves to stop saying Conservative Justices, and put the word Originalist Justices in its place.   That alone should interrupt the stimulus-response nature of people’s reactions.   It should cause people to pause, look at the term and ask themselves, “what does that term mean?”   What is an Originalist judge?  Do I think that is a good idea?”

It should help preserve the integrity of the Supreme Court, and leave justices free to hold their own political beliefs, and yet be free to adhere to their judicial philosophy–and in most cases not  to make decisions on their feelings or emotions, but on the foundational Constitution and subsequent precedent law.

Just a thought.  And a question or two for you:   Who has a vested interest in conflating politics with justice, and steering us away from the judicial philosophy debate, leaving us mired in our political fears?   Who wants you to doubt the integrity and independence of the third branch of government, rendering it impotent?

I’d love to hear from you.

Propaganda Warfare: Recession, Recession, Recession

Published / by Lee Kessler / 1 Comment on Propaganda Warfare: Recession, Recession, Recession
I begin with an excerpt from a Blog written 1 year ago today.   How prophetic!   So, I encourage you to go to the archives, and read the whole Blog. But for now, we will start here.   Then I will give you an example of the latest propaganda barrage you are being hit with.

A Lie Told Often Enough Becomes the Truth

Published / by Lee Kessler /

One of Hitler’s known strategies was his understanding that a lie told often enough becomes the truth.  He used propaganda to get the German people to believe that the Jews were the source of Germany’s economic ills.   It was a lie, but the constant repetition of the marketing message in his perverse campaign to gain power, eroded, over time, the peoples’ natural reason. Pin that in your notebook.  The strategy of those who destroy is to make certain that reason does not prevail when an issue comes up.   They want a stimulus-response knee-jerk reaction to occur.   They desire to have emotion overwhelming reason.   Because then, and only then, can one  manipulate otherwise good people into an angry mob,  mobilize a group into a lynching,  stampede people  into riots and looting, or inspire people to overthrow a government.

Pavlov studied stimulus-response with dogs, eventually getting them to salivate at just the sound of a bell.   Skinner, that delightful fellow who is reported to have kept his own baby in a glass box for a year, to see how a child responds to no human contact, carried research into stimulus-response in man.   You have to ask yourself why?   For humanitarian purposes?   Hardly.   They were looking for ways to control men, and the behavior of men, through things they could do to their minds.

Their task–mind control and indoctrination techniques in order to overwhelm the natural reason of the individual and make it possible to control him and his actions.   The emotion–either fear or hatred, or both.   It is an enslaving mechanism.  To the Black Propagandist, you are not a soul, with values and morals, which would make you an independent thinker,  You are simply an animal to be controlled. Do not doubt this.  He has complete disdain for you as he feeds you the lies, and watches you do his dirty work thereafter.  Anytime you find yourself suddenly incapable of controlling a fear response or anger response to some news item, and you want to leap to a generality and tidily end all discussion because you “feel” that ALL people are just like the one bad apple you encountered or read about, you have been victimized.   Discernment has been erased, the ability to differentiate has been obscured, and you stand there howling to the moon that “the one equals the whole.”   And you then start repeating the mantra.   And the lie spreads further.

___________________________________

Now for the current example.   Remember always that the Media are merchants of fear and chaos.   They make their money by reporting on things that upset you, and scare you.  We have a tendency to be drawn to blood and gore, to mayhem and forecasts of doom to come.  It’s as if we are compelled to read about, or watch, things that are the opposite of our true good nature.  Regrettably, bad things and bad people are frightening to good people.

With a free press, it is necessary sometimes to report dangerous situations and reveal sinister actions and motives.  I am not arguing with that.  Scary or not, there are sometimes things we need to face.  But what is being reported upon has to be true, not manufactured.  That would be promoting a lie, and a dangerous one at that. This is the stock and trade of the Black Propagandist, and the Totalitarian.   They plant a lie, then assure that it is repeated over and over until it is like a hypnotic implant in your mind.   Your defenses are down.   You are overwhelmed mentally and can no longer seem to examine, reason, or fight with the negative data.   Eventually you are worn down, and even the best of us succumbs to the lie, and embraces it as the truth. Then, worse yet, we repeat it.  And usually we no longer even remember where we got the idea, and we certainly don’t challenge our own conclusions.  But, were they ours, or someone else’s?

Right now, even though factually the United States economy is roaring and the envy of the world, with the lowest stats in unemployment among blacks, Hispanics, women, Asian-Americans in my lifetime, a seed of doubt was implanted.   A Propagandist was lurking, waiting for a piece of true data on which to hang a lie, and then pile on.   Even though whole industries have come back to life and are returning to America, even though we are energy independent for the first time that I can remember, and even though wages are rising and the Middle Class is being rebuilt, even though poverty has declined, and huge numbers are coming off the poverty rolls, the lie stuck.

And the lie is designed to scare you, cause you to lose your optimism about your future, to stop forward motion so you try to hang onto what money you have, to stop your investment if you are an investor, to sell your stocks and slow the market, to postpone business expansion if you are a businessperson, to stop taking vacations or go out to dinner or buy a new outfit.   It is designed to frighten the average citizen, causing them to lose joy, and maybe even lose hope that the economic nightmare of the last decade was over.  It casts doubt on the future.  It gives uncertainty.   It causes anxiety ( and probably sells more drugs.   But that is a topic for another conversation. Read “White King and the Doctor” and “White King Rising” if you doubt this.) It lowers your self-esteem, and the nation’s, and once again makes us feel “helpless” and at the mercy of the “forces that be.”

And despite the fact that our President and his economic team have denied it, despite the fact that the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board has denied it, despite the fact that other finance groups and central banks have denied it, the lie persists.   Gleefully the Media talks about impending disaster– because they get wealthier if there are circumstances that are hurting a people, scaring a people, and confusing a people.   After all, if everything were hunky dory we wouldn’t spend time listening to their doom and gloom and “astute, expert analysis.”

The lie?   That, despite the robust economic indicators everywhere, we are going into a recession in 2020.  What was the truth that the lie was attached to?   Now, bear in mind that I am not a finance person, but I figured out a great deal in the novel, “White King and the Battle of America: the Endgame.”  Apparently two types of yield curves, that normally go in one direction, for a brief time crossed each other.   The one that was supposed to be higher became the lower of the two.  And the one that was supposed to be lower became the higher of the two.   And, in the past, if that happened, economists said it portended a recession.  If I remember that day however, the curves reversed and went back to normal in a very short period of time.

Dozens and dozens of pieces of true economic data were ignored.  The analyses of Wall Street, the Fed,  credentialed economists, and our own common sense–all ignored.  The mantra became that we are “likely” to have a recession.   We are “headed for a recession.”   We are “headed for a fall.”   Headed for a “potentially catastrophic collapse of the stock market in the very near future.”

CNN trumpeted it.   MSNBC trumpeted it.  The infamous New York Times repeated it.  The Washington Post repeated it. Presidential candidates trumpeted it. And I think (I could be wrong) even the Wall Street Journal fell for this.  A lie told often enough becomes the truth.

It becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy.   You see, we live at the level that we speak. If we think we can, we can.   If we think we can’t, we can’t.   This is fundamental and juvenile.   Most of you learned this when your parents read you “The Little Engine That Could.”   (great book which I read recently to some business colleagues I am mentoring)

And the Black Propagandist knows this.   If he can get you to think what he is implanting, and get you to verbally repeat it, your own words bring the thing to life.

So, we are not going into a Recession–unless you decide we are, and speak it into existence.   Guard your minds people.  And the next time someone tries to convince you of Recession, Recession, Recession, just examine actual true verifiable data.   Let the preponderance of true data overwhelm and drown out the lie attached to the one little negative piece that bore a modicum of truth.

Slippery, isn’t it?   We, as a people, are up against the best propagandists in my lifetime.  We can handle them!   I have faith in the common sense of the great American people–always have, always will!!

Reprise & Prelude

Published / by Lee Kessler / 1 Comment on Reprise & Prelude

I want to reprise a Blog from a year ago.   Recently I have been directing you to it, so I decided it was time to revisit it.   The following paragraphs are from the Blog “Good’s Dilemma” and will serve as a prelude to the next Blog.  That Blog will explore the most current and dangerous Black Propaganda move being made against Americans.   Stay tuned for that, but this one, I believe, will give you some peace of mind.

EXCERPTED FROM “GOOD’S DILEMMA”

One of the difficulties we Americans have in dealing with the upsetting cultural and political climate we find ourselves in has to do with the fact that we are basically GOOD.  None of us is perfect, yet we try in varying degrees to do what’s right and to see good in ourselves and others.   Therefore GOOD has a hard time seeing and understanding BAD.   Good people have a hard time identifying bad people–let alone dealing with them–because the “good” look through their own eyes, and their own motives, and intentions.

Regrettably, the BAD understand this trait and can remain camouflaged, manipulating their way, causing havoc.   There are two things to address.  One is the driving motivation of “good” people versus “bad” people.   By “good” I mean those who strive to Create, and by “bad” I mean those who strive to Destroy.    I’m not talking about accidentally being destructive of people or things.  We all fall into that category from time to time.  I am talking about people whose goal is in fact to destroy.   They work on the complete counter agenda to those whose goal is  to create.   You will be well off in my opinion to think of this as a game and have a sense of humor about it.

Just remember that there are people who CREATE and there are people who DESTROY.   Embracing that simple fact alone may cause a weight to lift.  You may have struggled trying to justify why someone did something horribly contrary to you, your family, your group, or your country.   Being good, you think you brought this on yourself.   You think you must have been wrong, or  done something wrong.   That’s how basically good, emotionally mature people think.   They try to take responsibility for all the foul ups and upsets.  They try to make things better.   They try to trust.

And it is that one trait alone that makes it possible for the Black Propagandist to operate– to remain hidden, to prey upon, manipulate the emotions and actions of others he despises, to undermine, and even turn the target of his enmity into an accomplice.   There is no one blinder than the unwitting accomplice of a Black Propagandist.  Staying close to us, gaining our trust, they gnaw away at our faith in institutions, people, government, and even ourselves.  Their goal is to destroy and they are gleeful when there is chaos, fear, declining statistics, mistrust, and violence.   The “good,” on the other hand, are despairing in the face of those factors.   They are happy when there is calm, freedom, safety, upward trending statistics and on and on.

So, second, what is a Black Propagandist and why is he such a cunning and dangerous foe to face?  The Black Propagandist is one who plants and spreads lies about someone through gossip or rumor in order to destroy the reputation, the livelihood, the position, and possibly the life of someone he targets.  He is driven by fear and hatred.   He can not compete in the open, so he adopts a covert attack. Getting others to pick up his lie and move that lie forward assures that he can remain hidden and that the lie will spread like wildfire–if he attaches the lie or lies to a modicum of truth.   His equation is something like this:  100 lies + 1 truth = 101 truths.  The one truth makes the 100 lies somehow true.   We struggle with overwhelming amounts of data, and say, “Well, that one piece of data is true, so I guess all the rest of the info must be true too. And now 100 lies become “true.” We know somehow that is insane.   Or do we?”
